Yeah, go ahead fill in the blank. Does it matter whose name goes there?<\/p>\n

You already know how the story ends.<\/p>\n

Many knew even before<\/em> the story ended. Muhammad’s record boasts 56 wins , 5 losses and 37 knockouts in his 21 year reign.<\/p>\n

So, GPON vs Ethernet, GPON vs. _____________?<\/p>\n

Rinse, repeat, recycle—whatever. Same premise.<\/p>\n

Let’s take a ride down memory lane for a moment. Do you recall my post entitled ‘The Passive Optical LAN \u00a0market: Six reasons to ride this wave?’<\/a><\/p>\n

I can forgive you if you don’t; so much has happened since then, not just with GPON vs Ethernet, but especially in 2016.<\/p>\n

I have decided to re-brand 2016 as ‘The Grinch that stole Hollywood.’ All those\u00a0stars — over 200– dead!<\/a>
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

In that post, I outlined several reasons why the Passive Optical LAN is the wave of the future. Many remain loyal<\/a> to Ethernet. But over time, and brick by brick, GPON vs Ethernet will not even be mentioned in the same sentence.<\/p>\n

I know, it sounds far fetched right now, but so was the notion that the earth was round.<\/p>\n

Would you argue that fact now? Would anyone?

The Marriott Hotel in New York City has gone rogue. They are one of\u00a0 the first hotels in the world to carry voice, TV and data over a passive optical network (PON).<\/p>\n
